ARRI has just released a firmware update for the ALEXA 35. And as the latest ARRI cinema camera gets onto more film sets and into the hands of more DoPs, the need for improvements arises. SUP 1.2 is a significant update, which adds support for the new ARRI CCM-1 Camera Control Monitor and also incorporates feedback received from industry professionals.

The ARRI CCM-1 gives users full camera control and menu access for the ALEXA 35, combining ARRI color accuracy and a bright display with customisable controls, rugged build quality and well thought-out accessories. Additionally, ARRI are bringing a much-awaited and highly speculated feature to the MVF-2. SUP 1.2 finally brings touchscreen functionality to the flip-out monitor of the MVF-2 viewfinder. Apparently, as many have speculated, the hardware has always had this capability, but it took ARRI engineers a while to bring the user interface to a point where it would enhance working on set and in prep. On top of touch operation, there are numerous user interface improvements, making it even easier to operate the ALEXA 35.

Another new features for the ALEXA 35 introduced with SUP 1.2.0 is support for WPA-3 client mode, an extended erase media warning and a lot of stability improvements.
