ARRI ALEXA 35 Base and Premium LicencesBased on customer requests, ARRI is making its top-tier ALEXA 35 camera system more accessible for a wider range of users and production types by introducing a new lower-cost entry model and flexible licenses. The existing camera, with all its software-based features, will now be known as the ALEXA 35 Premium model, and is joined by the new and lower-priced ALEXA 35 Base model, with a core feature set that can be upgraded via temporary or permanent licenses. Costs are further reduced with the new Codex Compact Drive Express 1TB for Apple ProRes recording. The new ALEXA 35 Base is the most affordable, entry-level camera designed to make it easier for up-and-coming cinematographers and creatives to gain access to the ALEXA 35 ecosystem. Easily identified by the blue jog wheel on the side, the ALEXA 35 Base retains the same great core feature set from the ALEXA 35 such as the industry-benchmark Super35 sensor, 17 stops Dynamic Range, LPL mount, B-mount battery, REVEAL Colour Science, ARRI Look, and 3x independent 10bit monitoring outptus among others. ARRI also introduced a new, more cost-effective 1TB Express drive designed to save you money, while still supporting the same read/write speeds for all ProRes flavours. The ALEXA 35 Base records 4K/60p ProRes out of the box with 5 additional and optional licences available on a weekly, monthly, yearly, or permanent basis. These licenses unlock various features such as 120fps slow-motion, Open Gate & Anamorphic shooting, ARRIRAW, Pre-record, Looks and more. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in February 2025.
